Free engine health check for vehicles
Analysing the oil in your vehicle provides a health check of the engine without the need to take the vehicle off the road for maintenance, which takes time and costs money. Sounds simple … and oil analysis provider Techenomics is making it even easier by giving vehicle owners an opportunity to have oil samples tested to determine engine wear.
There are no strings attached to this offer for vehicle owners and no steak knives for those who take it up, because it is free.
All you have to do is bring your oil sample to Techenomics’ Newcastle premises on Wednesday evenings from 6pm to 9pm, starting April 19, and it will be tested.
The spectral oil analysis test will determine engine wear and tear, and provide an indication of whether there are issues within the engine, enabling owners to take further action to ensure their vehicle stays on the road for longer.
Techenomics CEO Chris Adsett says oil analysis is an effective maintenance tool that provides a window into the internal workings of engines and can predict any issues before they lead to costly repairs and vehicle downtime. Oil analysis is commonly associated with operators of large equipment in industrial applications but is just as important for operators of smaller fleet vehicles, and even the family car.
“Techenomics serves clients in various industries, including mining, oil & gas, transport, power generation and marine but the same issues faced in industrial situations apply to operators of all vehicles, and oil analysis can be used effectively to ascertain oil condition and maintenance issues in privately owned vehicles.
“Many engine manufacturers specify oil analysis for their engines but not all mechanics carry out analysis of oil and other lubricants. Analysis can identify fuel dilution, coolant leaks, presence of deleterious elements such as metals, foaming, unfiltered air and other harmful items that can impact the effectiveness of oil and lubricants.”
Chris Adsett says most owners and operators only have their vehicles serviced at the intervals indicated by manufacturers or mechanics but oil analysis is a predictive maintenance tool that is effective at any time.
“Dirty oil reduces the performance of engines, increases fuel consumption and pumps more emissions into the air. It can lead to component failure and engine breakdown, resulting in costly repairs and vehicle downtime.”
This free community service will be available from 6pm to 9pm each Wednesday, starting April 19, at Techenomics’ Mayfield East laboratory at Unit 5, 56 Industrial Drive, behind McDonalds. Techenomics’ expert staff will be on hand to carry out the testing and provide advice on the results.
