As diesel shortage bites hard, Techenomics has role in improving performance
Condition monitoring and Liquid Tungsten use improve diesel consumption up to 5%
As a diesel fuel supply crisis grips the world due to the Middle East conflict, it has never been more important to get the most out of diesel.
Techenomics has an important role to play in this process with its total fluid management services and products.
CEO Chris Adsett said the company’s condition monitoring program encompassed all lubricants, including diesel.

A number of nations, including Australia, have relaxed regulations for diesel fuel supply in order to keep the economy, including mining and industry, running during the supply crisis.
“This makes regular testing even more important,” Adsett said, “in order to minimise the impacts of deleterious elements, including sulphur.”
Techenomics uses ASTM D4294 as its standard method of testing in conjunction with an X-Ray Fluorescence Sulphur Tester that can check sulphur at 7ppm until 5%.
This is a 10 standard test method for sulphur in petroleum and petroleum products using Energy Dispersive X-ray Fluorescence Spectometry.
“A good condition monitoring program, together with an application of 3% Liquid Tungsten (LT) in the engine oil can improve diesel fuel consumption by up to 5%,” Adsett said.
“This result has been proven in the laboratory, and, importantly, in independent field trials.”
Techenomics distributes the unique Liquid Tungsten products throughout its network and exclusively to the mining industry.
The Liquid Tungsten reduces friction between moving metal components, thereby reducing temperatures and creating more efficiency.
