Techenomics has accreditation affirmed for Gunnedah laboratory

NATA accreditation “a badge of honour”
Techenomics’ state-of-the-art laboratory  in Gunnedah, NSW, has been re-accredited by the National Association of Testing Authorities (NATA), Australia, following an assessment.
Techenomics CEO Chris Adsett said NATA accreditation was a badge of honour for the company.

“It shows customers that the company can be trusted, that technical results can be counted on and that inspected products and services were safe and reliable for public use.”

He said the accreditation was a reflection of the dedication, professionalism, skills and continuous improvement of the team at Techenomics in Gunnedah.

NATA said: “Accreditation is the way we recognise, determine and promote the ability of organisations to perform specific types of technical and scientific activities.

“These activities can include measurement, testing, calibration and inspection and accreditation recognises an organisation’s compliance with relevant national and international standards.

“NATA accredited organisations enjoy the security of knowing they have a proven, independently assessed benchmark for performance.”

Through the accreditation process organisations can demonstrate:

  • The efficiency and validity of their processes;
  • The accuracy of their measurements;
  • Assurance around innovation;
  • Technical competence;
  • Impartiality;
  • Confidence to customers;
  • Commercial advantages; and
  • International acceptance of results.

“Being a NATA accredited facility builds credibility in an organisation’s products and services,” NATA said.

“Overall, accreditation creates confidence by providing a structured and reliable framework for the quality of results ensuring their traceability, comparability and validity. “

Adsett said this provided a benchmark for organisations like Techenomics, allowing them to determine whether they were performing their work correctly, competently and to appropriate standards.

“Through the accreditation process, issues and gaps in processes or capabilities can be identified creating the opportunity to improve organisational efficiency and outputs, as we are constantly striving for at Techenomics,” he added.

The Gunnedah laboratory serves the mining, agriculture and transport industries in northwest NSW and throughout eastern Australia.

The company’s other laboratories in the Pilbara region of WA, in Indonesia and Mongolia have the same standards and are also accredited by local and national bodies.
