Techenomics named as CORE Innovation Hub Hot 30 Award finalist

Techenomics’ operation in Newman at the heart of Western Australia’s Pilbara mining region was a finalist in the 2023 CORE Innovation Hub’s Hot 30 Awards which recognise technology companies and entrepreneurs driving innovation across Australian mining, energy, resource, oil & gas, space and defence industries.

The global total fluid management company was one of three finalists from the Pilbara region in the national awards and was represented at a ceremony in Newman at which the Hot 30 Award winners were announced.

Representing Techenomics at the ceremony hosted by the CORE Hub in Newman were CEO Chris Adsett and Business Development Manager – North Asia Sugarkhorloo Emgen (Sugraa) with the other Pilbara finalists being Wonbon Supply & Logistics and Magellen Power.

Chris Adsett said the company was honoured to be named as a finalist as this was recognition of Techenomics’ constant focus on innovation as it strived to ensure clients achieved the best possible performance from their oils and lubricants.

“Our independent oil and fluid analysis service supported by more than 30 years of experience, expert staff, high-tech equipment in accredited laboratories, unique software and attention to each customer’s unique circumstances benefits mining, transport and industry across the Pilbara as well as in the other global locations in which we are located,” he said.

“This specialised fluid management is supported by the Liquid Tungsten product that reduces internal friction by a minimum of 25% thereby boosting the performance and life of lubricants.

“We distribute this throughout our territories, including the Pilbara, and exclusively to the mining industry.”

He said that it was also great to see one of the other Pilbara 2023 Hot 30 finalists, Magellan Power, take out the national Sustainability Innovation Award above other companies from throughout Australia.

Magellan Power has developed an innovative approach to the whole-life cycle management of lithium-ion batteries used in industry, called the Battery Eco System – 4R, which includes stages of repair, refurbishment, repurposing, and recycling.

CORE Innovation Hub’s Hot 30 Awards recognise 30 businesses that have harnessed smart technology and innovation to shape the future of the mining, energy and resources sectors.

These companies are among the nation’s hottest new generation of businesses driving transformation across the sector.

The 2023 Hot 30 Awards saw companies representing five states and one territory including Western Australia, South Australia, Victoria, ACT, New South Wales and Queensland with the solutions they developed representing a broad cross section of the industry, showcasing how diverse the energy and mining industry can be.

To be selected as part of the Hot 30 Award businesses and organisations must have an Australian business number and must:

Be developing or have developed their own unique technology, product, or service that has the potential to enhance productivity and improve efficiency in the energy resources supply chain;
Have been developing this technology for less than five years;
Be working to grow the business to a global market; and
Support CORE’s culture of open innovation and collaboration.

Comprised of small and medium enterprises, CORE Innovations Hot 30 are Australian businesses and organisations who have successfully scaled their ideas into businesses, solving real-world problems with innovative means.
