Techenomics enhances presence in Ghana through Verity Labs
The businesses will combine their global expertise and local networks to benefit customers
Techenomics International is enhancing its presence in West Africa through a new partnership arrangement with Ghana-based Verity Labs Ltd.
The two businesses will work together to provide the best possible independent oil and lubricant analysis and fluid management services as well as increase awareness of and distribute Liquid Tungsten in Ghana and throughout West Africa.
This arrangement will combine the international expertise and network of Techenomics with the local knowledge and network of Verity Labs for the benefit of clients.
Techenomics CEO Chris Adsett said it was always better for clients to be able to access local goods and services to benefit their businesses and this partnership arrangement would help ensure they received the best possible independent services for their oil analysis, fluid management and Liquid Tungsten needs.
“We see great synergies between the two operations and believe this will help both to better service operators in Ghana and West Africa – in mining, transport and industry, in fact any business in which lubricants are used to drive productivity.
“Liquid Tungsten, which lowers operating temperatures, reduces friction, limits emissions, increases the life of lubricants and improves fuel consumption, has a big role to play in optimising operations and adding value to fluid management.”
In order to align Verity Labs with Techenomics range of services and products along with its specialised fluid management software package, Blue Oceans, the company’s project leader for Blue Oceans, Lkhagvasuren Turbat (Lkhagvaa) spent some time recently in Accra, Ghana.
Lkhagvaa, who is based at the company’s Mongolian operations, spent several days training the Verity Labs team members in the use of Blue Oceans and familiarising them with Techenomics systems and practices.
This will equip Verity Labs to better service its existing, and growing, customer base utilising the state-of-the-art testing, analysis and reporting procedures of Techenomics.
Verity Labs is an independent multi-purpose facility analysing fuels, lubricants and water in line with international testing protocols of ASTM, IP, ISO, and UOP.
It provides laboratory services for:
- Crude oil and crude condensate testing;
- Natural gas hydrocarbon mixtures testing;
- Refined petroleum gas mixtures testing;
- Diesel fuel testing;
- Gasoline testing;
- Bunker fuel testing;
- Fuel oil testing;
- Aviation turbine fuel testing;
- Biofuels testing (ethanol, methanol, biodiesel);
- Lubricants testing; and
- Water testing.
Verity Labs Technical Lead Augustus Wiredu said the business evolved from an idea to solve a multi-faceted problem by providing a platform to eventually end the need to send petroleum and lubricant testing services outside of Africa.
“With access to in-country talent and expertise, our vision is to connect infrastructure, capacity development and partnerships to achieve this.
“Our new relationship with Techenomics will help us to reach our goals and provide a better service for current and future clients. We are looking forward to working with Techenomics.”
