Liquid Tungsten reduces engine wear in dump truck
Adding 4% IFWS-2 Liquid Tungsten brings down iron outcome in oil by 67%
Time and time again Liquid Tungsten nanotechnology demonstrates its capacity to reduce friction and lower operating temperatures thereby cutting engine wear and reducing maintenance.
The Liquid Tungsten, which is distributed by Techenomics and exclusively to the mining industry, has been proven to reduce engine wear during a trial on a Komatsu HD 785 dump truck used in a mining operation in Kalimantan, Indonesia.
The mine operator was concerned about the high level of engine wear with the truck and Techenomics was approached to help find a solution.
Just by adding 4% of the Liquid Tungsten to the engine oil, Techenomics demonstrated that the generation of iron due to engine wear was reduced significantly.
The outcome iron level was reduced from 0.03 mg/l per hour to 0.1 mg/l, a 67% reduction in oil per hour.
The oil was changed at sample one with 4% Liquid Tungsten added. At sample three no Liquid Tungsten was added and the wear level jumped back up by 300%, thereby resuming its upward trend.
Techenomics CEO Chris Adsett says this trial again demonstrates the undoubtable benefits of adding Liquid Tungsten to lubricants.
“An ongoing series of tests we have conducted in our laboratories and trials in a range of mining, transport and industrial applications in various operating situations around back up statements about the benefits of the nanotechnology,” he said.
Liquid Tungsten continues to show its effectiveness in improving the function of lubricants in a wide range of mechanical applications.
The nanotechnology reduces friction and thereby lowers temperatures. This reduces mechanical wear, increases the life of lubricants, lowers fuel consumption, limits maintenance and cuts emissions in the operating components of engines and other mechanical equipment.
Chris Adsett says the reduced engine wear provided by the Liquid Tungsten has enabled the operator to limit maintenance and enhance the productivity of the haul truck.
