It’s business as usual for Techenomics with assistance from self-help videos
It is largely business as usual for Techenomics during the travel restrictions and social distancing measures in force due to the global COVID-19 pandemic with the company’s experienced and committed team able to carry out all total fluid management services.
Some new measures have been implemented to ensure the company continues to maintain a high level of service, including the use of self-help videos to explain procedures which remove the need for human contact.
Despite being a company with operations around the world, each of Techenomics operations is self-contained and, therefore, is able to carry out all conditional monitoring functions effectively and efficiently. This ensures that companies in the mining, transport, industrial and marine sectors can keep operating during these unprecedented times.
A key component of Techenomics’ business is oil analysis and this function is continuing unimpeded by COVID-19 restrictions. The company has put in place effective measures to ensure the collection, dispatch, receiving, analysis, interpretation and reporting of the oil and lubricant samples is carried out with minimal human interaction.
Techenomics Mongolia has developed a video to explain the process of taking an oil sample. In the video Tumee demonstrates and explains how to take an oil sample using the vacuum pump method and with the kit provided by Techenomics.
Here is the Mongolian version of the video…
A similar video has also been prepared by the company’s Australian team for use at worksites.
When collecting a used oil sample, it is highly important to make sure that the correct procedures are used to minimise sample disturbance during and after the sampling process. Proper oil sampling is critical for maintaining an effective oil analysis program with oil analysis being pointless without a representative sample.
In commending Tumee and the Mongolian team for the video, Techenomics CEO Chris Adsett said that it provided a blueprint for the company’s other operations.
He said the global company relied on local expertise and their development of local networks in each of the operational centres – Mongolia, Indonesia, Singapore, Australia and Africa – and, as such, employed no expats.
“With Mongolia being a landlocked and sparsely populated country sandwiched between two global powerhouses that have had their issues with COVID-19, it closed its borders very early and implementing the appropriate measures. Mongolia has done a great job in minimising the spread of the deadly virus,” he said.
“This means the Mongolians have had to be self-sufficient with the Techenomics Mongolia team demonstrating their commitment and determination to see the company continue to service the needs of mining and industry in the developing country.
“The video shows their innovative approach to helping the business keep operating effectively while reducing contact between people.”
Chris Adsett says as well as Mongolia and Australia, the company will implement similar explanatory videos across aspects of the business and in different languages with a French-speaking version being prepared for use in the French-speaking nations of Africa.
