Techenomics provides masks to help Ghana tackle COVID-19
COVID-19 has meant extremely trying times for communities around the world and dealing with the pandemic has been particularly difficult in third-world countries such as Ghana.
Techenomics has provided further support for people in the West African nation with a donation of face masks to Ghana across a number of communities.
This follows the total fluid management provider recently supporting the people of Madina in Ghana with donations of foodstuff and sanitisation materials.
Rashid Baba Amadu, the company’s technical representative in Ghana, organised the donation of masks to various communities to help prevent the spread of COVID-19.
He said: “Prevention is better than cure and even though wearing a mask does not guarantee the cure of COVID-19, it can help stop the spread of the deadly coronavirus.”
Techenomics CEO Chris Adsett said the company was pleased to be able to support the country’s efforts to prevent the spread of the virus.
“COVID-19 has brought unprecedented times and although social distancing measures are keeping colleagues, friends and family members apart, it is vital that those who can support those that are not so well off,” he said.
It is the company’s second donation in Ghana with foodstuff presented to the community in Madina about a month ago along with sanitisation materials to the Madina police who are at the frontline of enforcing measures aimed at keeping people safe.
There were bags of rice, cooking oils, canned fish, canned tomato paste, drinks, bottled water, hand sanitisers, liquid soaps, Veronica buckets to store running water for washing of hands, tissue papers, gloves and some face masks donated on that occasion.
Madina District Police Chief Inspector Osei Kwabena was on hand to accept the donations along with police commander Chief Superintendent Martin Appiah, who expressed his appreciation to Techenomics.
Speaking at the ceremony, Techenomics’ Francis Komla Kings said the presentation was an act of support from the company to assist institutions such as the Ghana police service, who are in the frontline of ensuring order and safety.
“We are excited to be in the position to support the police with some items we believe will assist them in their work as part of our social responsibility. We are appreciative of your efforts in these trying times of the COVID-19 pandemic,” he said.
