Sharing knowledge vital for development of Techenomics
Techenomics provides innovative oil analysis and fluid management services to clients across a number of borders throughout Asia and Australia, making it vital for all team members to be working from the same page.
To facilitate this process, knowledge and expertise is shared and transferred between the group’s teams in Australia, Mongolia, Indonesia, Singapore and Thailand.
Techenomics CEO Chris Adsett says it is crucial that resources are shared across the company. “By sharing the knowledge gained through the combined education and experience of our broad-based team, we provide better service to customers.”
Team members regularly get together within country for training and to share experiences while the communication lines are always open as operations are in similar time zones. There is an annual Techenomics conference for all staff while various team members also attend workshops, conferences and expos on a regular basis.
When the opportunity arises, team members visit operations in other countries for training or to share their knowledge.
Chris Adsett says a recent example of this was the visit to Australia by Techenomics Mongolia team member Lkhagvaa as a study and training exercise as well as strengthening the level of cooperation between the two teams for the benefit of the entire company.
The primary purpose of Lkhagvaa’s visit was to learn about the fundamentals and operation of an inductively coupled plasma optical emission spectrometry (ICP-OES) unit from the Techenomics Australia team as this technology is being introduced to the Mongolian operation.
Lkhagvaa spent time at Techenomics’ Newcastle laboratory learning about the fundamentals and operation of the ICP unit from experienced operators so that clients of Techenomics Mongolia will be able to receive full benefits of the technology.
Lkhagvaa says, “The trip has allowed me to learn the how to use the ICP and will help Techenomics Mongolia with the knowledge I’ve gained while I’ve been in Australia.
“I am very thankful for the help from everyone at Techenomics Australia and am glad to be part of the cooperation between our sites.”
Newcastle-based acting operations manager Steve Adamthwaite says Lkhagvaa learned everything very quickly and was able to see and operate a variety of lab equipment that is different from that used to service Mongolia customers.
Chris Adsett says, “We share data extensively within the group and this is getting even more important as we further embrace the digital age. We all need to share our knowledge, history and expertise and apply this to the benefit of our clients so they get enhanced performance from their oils and lubricants.
“Enhanced co-operation within the group is a win-win for everyone.”
