Nano technology boosts oil performance
Techenomics is at the forefront of fluid management and condition monitoring technology which results in more effective maintenance of engines and hydraulic equipment leading to cost savings and improved productivity.
In keeping with its focus on innovation, Techenomics is adding value to its industry leading condition monitoring service through the supply of nano additives which enhance the life of engine oils and reduce mechanical wear in equipment where fluid lubricates moving parts.
Through a distributor arrangement with Nanotech Industrial Solutions, Techenomics offers this revolutionary nano technology throughout its global network.
The simple process of adding nano tungsten disulphide particle to oil creates a complex transformation to the oil which extends mechanical efficiency and equipment life. The technology is explained in the following YouTube link: https://youtu.be/jTYjvbHyiHQ.
The multi-layer tungsten disulphide nanospheres lower friction and heating, thereby reducing mechanical wear, which if left untreated causes poor performance, component breakdown or even equipment failure.
Extreme working pressure inside engines and hydraulic equipment results in the nanospheres creating a protective layer that attaches to surface crevices of metals, making them smoother and reducing wear.

Techenomics CEO Chris Adsett says the nano technology is complementary to Techenomics innovative and proven Total Fluid Management Solutions. “The benefits of the nano additives have been proven in various applications across the mining, transport and construction industries, and with a comprehensive range of oils.
“For example, at an Indonesian coal operation nano tungsten disulphide was added to oil used in a dump truck with engine oil life extended by 43% and fuel consumption decreased 4.7% due to lower operating temperatures and reduced friction. Over a three-month period the fuel burn rate decreased 4.7% while engine speed increased 3% and rear exhaust temperature decreased 4%.”
