Techenomics secures major Indonesian contract
Techenomics International has secured a major 2 year contract with PT Thiess Contractors Indonesia, which will see it carry out oil analysis for all Thiess and Leighton Asia mining projects in Indonesia. The contract will see Techenomics’ Indonesian division, PT Tekenomiks Indonesia, analysing a minimum of 4000 extra oil samples each month.
Techenomics’ CEO Chris Adsett says Thiess is one of the world’s biggest mining contractors which has a very significant Indonesian business and to win the 2 year contract is a major boost. “We are an independent oil analysis and fluid management provider and the winning of this contract demonstrates that in difficult times for the mining industry globally, our services are very relevant.
“The independent expertise that Techenomics brings to the table enables companies to maintain and even enhance production simply by analysing oil and managing fluids. As part of a regular maintenance program, this process helps identify issues with equipment, vehicles and plant before they occur, thereby reducing downtime and resulting in cost savings.”
The contract, which takes effect on May 1, 2015, will see PT Tekenomiks Indonesia initially undertake oil analysis for three open pit coal projects in Kalimantan – Thiess’s Melak TSA and Sangatta KPC projects, and Leighton Asia’s MSJ project.
Other Thiess/Leighton projects throughout Indonesia will then follow, including the MSM Gold Project in North Sulawesi, Martabe Gold-Silver Project in North Sumatra, Wahana Coal Project in Kalimantan and MGM Tuhup Coal Project in Kalimantan.
The oil samples from these operations will be sent to PT Tekenomiks’ laboratories in Balikpapan and Sangatta.
