Techenomics laboratories are able to analyse lubricant samples from many different sources including mining companies, power stations, agricultural machinery, paper mills, sea, road and rail freight. Routine testing and analysis is performed on Lubricating Oils, Hydraulic Oils, Coolants and fuels.
Techenomics undertakes in-house oil and lubricant analysis in all their laboratories.
Our scientific testing of used oil and grease determines the wear characteristics of equipment, and measures the efficiency of the lubrication of internal components.
Regular analysis of used oil from engines, transmissions, hydraulic systems, compressors and other machinery allows component wear trends to be established. We use information from oil tests to identify any abnormal working conditions and pinpoint the likely causes, for which corrective actions can be planned.
Investigations and reporting are performed by the Laboratory Chemists and over viewed by the chief chemist before sending reports via email and uploading to the online Blue Oceans database. Reporting provides a breakdown of each breached element in wear metals, contaminants, additives and the physical properties of oils, coolants and fuels. Techenomics has the capabilities of performing analysis on a wide range of liquid fuels, lubricants and associated products. Techenomics has the ability to provide monthly reports and evaluations of used oils, coolants and fuels, these reports will consist of concentrations in wear metals, particle size, contaminants, stability and recommendations for preventative measures.
Analysis results of oils, Hydraulic Fluids and virgin oils can be provided within three working days after the receipt of the sample. Analysis results of coolants can be provided within three working days after the receipt of the sample. Analysis results of fuels can be provided within ten working days after the receipt of the sample. Emergency testing can be reported on within one working day from the receipt of the sample, at a minimum of 1 hour to a maximum of 16 hours.

Oil Analysis is an essential and cost effective preventative maintenance tool that contributes to significantly reducing ongoing maintenance costs on plant and equipment. Oil Analysis reduces equipment downtime, increases component life and eliminates unnecessary oil changes.
